The Government of Canada announced extensions to several COVID-19 support measures for Canadians and Canadian businesses as follows:
- Eligibility for the Canadian Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS), the Canadian Emergency Rent Subsidy (CERS) and Lockdown Support (LS) have been extended to October 23, 2021. The rate of support employers and organizations can receive during the period between August 29, 2021, and September 25, 2021, has also been increased.
- The Canada Recovery Benefit (CRB), Canada Recovery Caregiving Benefit (CRCB) and Canada Recovery Sickness Benefit (CRSB) have been extended until October 23, 2021.
- The maximum number of weeks for the Canada Recovery Benefit (CRB) has been increased by 4 weeks for a total of 54 weeks at a rate of $300 per week. It will also be available to those who have exhausted their employment insurance (EI) benefits.
